1-2 year old class
Children in this age group can have widely varying developmental abilities. We consistently emphasize kindness, sharing, and how to express needs in appropriate ways. We also focus on fine motor skills, language development, differentiating colors, and understanding numbers and letters by beginning counting and letter play.

3-5 year old classes
In our 3-5 year old classes we use Get Set for School, a program that integrates play-based learning, music, and hands-on materials into our lessons. We also include enrichment activities such as Spanish, gardening, music and art. Our character and Bible program includes "The One Year Devotions for Preschoolers" by Crystal Bowman and "Bible Truths for Early Childhood - Walking God's Way", published by BJU press. It is designed to show children how to apply the traits of patience, kindness, responsibility, obedience, courage and love in their own lives.

Here is an example of what we focus on in a typical day:

  • character building - being kind, sharing, showing forgiveness, being helpful, taking responsibility
  • Bible stories
  • language and literacy development
  • handwriting development - fine motor skills
  • Spanish
  • creative art
  • music and rhythm
  • dramatic play
  • science activities
  • math skills
  • problem solving
  • following directions

Each of our classrooms is arranged with learning centers for reading, writing, science, home living/dramatic play, creative arts, blocks and more. Learning centers encourage independence and provide opportunities for children to develop their self-confidence and to practice decision-making skills as they navigate from center to center.
